Each member of our family of lampshades is available on a made-to-order basis.

​

We produce our lampshades as one-offs or in limited batch editions, combining contemporary laser-cutting production techniques with hand-finishing. This results in a fusion of craft-like attention to detail with a more contemporary language of accuracy and precision. Similarly, our design method ranges from hand-sketching to virtual 3-D modelling and simulation, from rough hand-cut mock-ups to rapid mechanised prototyping.

Our material palette is paired-down and minimal: Italian cartridge paper, high quality nordic birch plywood, and light. All members of the family use single, repeating paper profiles which, when assembled, result in complex, sculptural three-dimensional forms. This process of elaboration - from the simple and two dimensional to the complex, sculptural and three dimensional - is our current area of exploration.

 

In the end product we always aim for elemental simplicity, but it is also critical for us that our pieces be useful and practical right through to assembly and use, with every aspect honed, tested and refined to perfection.
